GA Foods is seeking a Production Team Lead to assist with supporting production line operations, ensuring optimal production efficiency, providing hands-on guidance, and fostering a strong work ethic within the team. Production Team Lead Essential Functions:
- Lead and assist with overseeing the daily operation of the production line, ensuring efficiency and adherence to standards.
- Set up and operate equipment such as case sealers, label machines, and manual assembly stations.
- Ensure proper labeling, date coding, and packaging of products.
- Assist with identifying and resolving production challenges to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
- Serve as a key resource on the production line, troubleshooting issues, guiding team members, and ensuring seamless workflow
- Monitor and Enforce Compliance – Ensure all employees adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food safety regulations, and company policies to maintain a safe and sanitary work environment.
- Manage production associates and material handlers, ensuring clear communication, accountability, and performance optimization.
- Assist in managing shift schedules, tracking attendance, and ensuring proper workforce allocation through ADP and other time-tracking systems. Partner with production management to address staffing gaps or concerns with the support of HR
- Provide direction, support, and coaching to team members to optimize performance and maintain high productivity.
- Assist with equipment setup, calibration, troubleshooting, and minor adjustments to keep production running smoothly.
- Maintain accurate digital reports, spreadsheets, and documentation related to production efficiency, waste, downtime, and output.
- Identify process inefficiencies, recommend solutions, and collaborate with line supervisors to enhance productivity and operational performance
- Actively identify and address potential safety hazards, ensuring all employees follow proper safety procedures and guidelines.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Safety, Warehouse, and Maintenance teams to ensure smooth plant operations.
What You Bring To The Team (Production Team Lead Requirements):
- Leadership experience in a manufacturing environment (food & beverage preferred).
- A can-do attitude with the ability to motivate and guide a production team while working alongside them.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to receive coaching, adapt to evolving processes, and actively engage in training and development opportunities to enhance leadership and technical skills.
- Computer proficiency with the ability to navigate digital reports, spreadsheets, and tracking systems.
- Strong math skills to ensure accurate tracking of production data, measurements, and inventory.
- Comprehensive knowledge of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and a strong understanding of food safety regulations, sanitation standards, and compliance requirements.
- Attention to detail in quality control, labeling, and process adherence.
Working Conditions & Physical Demands:
- Requires frequent use of motor coordination and fine finger dexterity for operating machinery, handling materials, and performing detailed tasks throughout the workday.
- Must be comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to food debris, strong odors, continuous equipment noise, varying temperatures (hot and cold) , wet surfaces, and other production-related conditions for extended periods.
- Must have the ability to stand, walk, climb, reach, lift, carry, pull, push, grasp, stoop, squat, bend, and stretch as needed for the duration of the shift.
- Ability to perform repetitive manual tasks while standing for the entirety of the shift, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in a fast-paced production setting.
- Production demands may require evening or weekend scheduling.
- Physical requirements:
- Under 1/3 of the time: Sitting, using hands to handle objects, reaching with arms.
- 1/3 to 2/3 of the time: Standing, walking, talking, or hearing.
- Over 2/3 of the time: Visual focus.
- Under 1/3 of the time: Lifting/exerting up to 50 lbs.
