Project Billing Specialist

Project Billing Specialist Thomas & Hutton is a growing, well-established civil engineering firm providing consulting services throughout the southeast. Thomas & Hutton has an opening for a full-time Project Billing Specialist with previous experience in project-based billing and a background in accounting. Successful candidates will possess the ability to quickly pick up new accounting software programs and regularly use MS Excel. Previous experience in the architectural/engineering/construction industry is preferred. The schedule for this position is Monday through Thursday 7:30 am – 5:30 pm, 7:30AM-11:30AM Friday. Successful candidates will have outstanding written and verbal communication skills, be detail oriented and demonstrate the ability to act as a positive team player in a fast-paced environment. Typical Duties Include:

• Preparing invoices and verifying accuracy
• Preparing required forms and providing required backup to Clients
• Working closely with Project Team throughout Billing Process
• Resolving invoice information issues in a timely manner
• Setting up Jobs
• Entering Miscellaneous charges to Projects prior to Billing

Minimum Requirements: Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent Skills:

• Experience with Project Based Billing a plus
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from the executive team, team members, clients and general public in a professional and polite manner.
• Ability to successfully problem-solve in an accounting environment
• 2+ years' experience utilizing MS Office products, specifically Excel and Word
• Able to follow instructions, understand and comply with accounting techniques, policies, and procedures
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills that will ensure cooperation across departments
• Demonstrated strong Attention to detail
• High levels of accuracy as it relates to data entry
• Ability to work under pressure in a faced-paced, multi-tasking environment
• Ability to prioritize & effectively deal with a variety of requests from multiple sources
• Ability to work well with others, have a team player mentality, and a positive attitude a must
