Pattern:Week one you would work Sunday day shift and Wednesday night shift. Then you would be off for 7 days.Week two you would work Thursday, Friday and Saturday day shift. Then returning to week one patternJob SummaryThe Patient Access Services Representative supports the Obstetrics (OB) Emergency Unit, a 24/7 unit on the third floor of Pavilion H that provides immediate care for pregnant and postpartum patients with urgent needs. This position facilitates efficient patient arrival and registration by verifying demographics and insurance, correcting registration errors, collecting patientresponsibility payments, and ensuring full compliance with HIPAA and UK HealthCare privacy policies.
As a key member of the OBED team, the representative assists patients during highstress situations, helps resolve concerns, and supports smooth transitions of care. The role also participates in unit and enterprise efforts to improve quality, efficiency, safety, and patient experience.Skills / Knowledge / AbilitiesThe ideal candidate will be customer service oriented; possess patient registration and health insurance knowledge; have the ability to multi-task with a strong emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail; be proficient in Microsoft Office, to include Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel; have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal); have solid time management, critical thinking, follow-through, and planning and organizational skills; and have a high level of respect for confidentiality.Does this position have supervisory responsibilities?
