Physical RequirementsThis position requires regularly lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects weighing up to or over 50 pounds; and performing tasks with repetitive motions; intermittently standing or walking with objects weighing up to 25 pounds; and sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time, and occasionally working at heights above four feet and/or in confined spaces. Also involves regular to occasional risk of injury from moving, lifting, or positioning patients, equipment, or materials; and exposure to loud noises, temperature extremes, hazardous chemicals, and fumes including waste, radiation, burns, cuts/punctures, blood-borne or airborne pathogens, and combative/violent people.ShiftPrimarily Monday through Friday day shift with on-call requirements based on department needs.Job SummaryAbout us: Who is UK Healthcare? About the role:
As the Registered Radiologist Assistant (RRA), you will play a crucial role in an acute and critical care hospital setting for both adult and pediatric patient populations, working in collaboration with a multidisciplinary healthcare team. You will function primarily in the Radiology Department managing and/or assisting in the care of acute and chronically ill patients related to pre, intra, and post-fluoroscopy and/or interventional procedures.Skills / Knowledge / AbilitiesStrong foundation in evidenced based practice and education.Knowledgeable with Radiology equipment and procedures.Provides quick and accurate imaging during urgent and emergent situations.Adapts imaging techniques and clinical interactions to meet the needs of a diverse patient population.Performs procedures within the RRA scope of practice under the direct supervision of the Radiologist, adhering to all relevant protocols, policies, and regulatory requirements.Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records within a health system.Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? NoPreferred Education/ExperienceMust obtain certification of R.R.A. within 1 year of hire.Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification within 90 days of hire.Proficient in assessing and managing patients, and performing select clinical procedures under the direct supervision of a Radiologist.
