Overview

 To be an effective team member of the Life New Business Department. To provide quality support services in a prompt and professional manner to Farm Bureau Insurance agents and underwriters.



Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Keying and verifying data, reviewing applications for completeness, alpha indexing, preparing policy files, sorting, delivering and processing mail, and retrieving files.
  • Assemble, check, and mail life and annuity policies along with necessary supporting documents, such as amendments, billings, and other correspondence necessary to assure proper and legal policy form.
  • Provide underwriting and agent support by ordering necessary underwriting requirements.
  • Process all financial transactions relating to an individual new business file.
  • Correspond with agents, their staff, and other employees of the Farm Bureau Family of Companies via e-mail, fax or telephone for information needed or requested in a prompt, accurate and professional manner
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of processing procedures, coverages and automated system operation for processing. Learn to develop and update processing procedures as needed.
  • Maintain departmental standards for production and accuracy. Record daily activity and production as directed.
  • Utilize an accurate understanding of company and customer, DIFS, agent, affiliated company relationships, and the company's core values and departmental standards for professionalism and courtesy in business conduct.
  • Assist in other areas of the division during low volume periods and as needed.
  • Perform general clerical duties as requested.

    Qualifications



    Required:

    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Experienced computer usage and proven skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.
    • Keyboarding skills with accuracy required.
    • One-year professional office experience and customer service preferred.
    • Self-motivated and ability to learn quickly.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive material with discretion.
    • Ability to handle simultaneous demands on time and attention.
    • Ability to perform professionally in a high speed and high-pressure environment.
    • Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy.

    Preferred

  • Associate’s degree preferred
  • Minimum one year of experience in insurance processing preferred.
  • Experience working with Life and Annuity products preferred.
