American Rheinmetall Next-generation solutions for the U.S. Armed Forces Job Summary: The Shipping & Receiving Clerk coordinates activities of workers engaged in verifying and keepings records on incoming and outgoing shipments and preparing items for shipment by performing the following duties. Essential Functions:
- Studies shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, production orders and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedules.
- Oversees incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.
- Determines space requirements and position of shipment in trucks and lays out position of shipment.
- Determines routing and legal load limits of trucks, according to established schedules and weight limits of states.
- Inspects loading operations to ensure compliance with shipping specifications, and seals loaded truck doors.
- Directs movement of shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage and work areas.
- Resolves receiving discrepancies from suppliers.
- Coordinates all outgoing shipments with respective dock times.
- Schedules pick-up times with customer logistics department.
- Posts weight and shipping charges.
- Coordinates material flow for commercial customers with scheduled dock times.
- Prepares bills of lading.
- Maintains time records.
- Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of shipping methods, equipment performance and quality of product.
- Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
- Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
- Adjusts errors and complaints.
- Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram format.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Ability displayed and accuracy of work produced, meeting company standards, and requiring little to no rework.
- Searches out new tasks and expands their ability to perform assigned tasks without direct supervision.

- Willingness and cooperativeness with co-workers and supervisors; ability to accept constructive criticism.
- Follow quality environmental policies and have knowledge of AS9100 and IS14001.
- Follow safety procedures, security protocol, and wear proper PPE.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and five to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Five to seven years related experience and/or training
- At least 3 months of experience driving a forklift
- Must undergo and meet company standards for background check, employment verification, reference checks and controlled substance testing.
- Knowledge of AS9100 and IS14001.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
- The employee may occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
