Postdoctoral Research Associate

D-26-POL-00008 | Research | Politics

Princeton University and the African School of Economics (ASE) have an opening for a postdoctoral research associate or more senior researcher to participate in a research initiative on institutional editing and experimentation. project on experiments and institutions. The project is part of the research portfolio of the Princeton African School of Economics Research (PASER) Hub funded by the Dean for Research of Princeton University.

Despite a significant increase in policy experimentation during the last two decades, there has been little development in institutional experimentation or experiments on decision-making processes in public or private organizations. Most of the research in this area is descriptive and has rarely been theoretically grounded field-tested in governments and private corporations, despite increasing demand for the knowledge this could generate, particularly in the developing world.

The PASER Hub is recruiting a researcher who will play a major role in pushing this research agenda by refining the design of these types of experiments and developing partnerships with governments and private corporations from around the world to get them implemented and scaled up.

We are looking for candidates with a Ph.D. in economics, management, political economy, or related areas with expertise either in game theory, particularly mechanism design or experimental methods and machine learning. The term of appointment is based on rank.
