Manager, Dental Laboratory

  • Supervise, develop, manage and coordinate all laboratory operations, staff, and workflow to ensure high-quality outcomes and timely case completion.

  • Establish and assess key performance indicators for lab operations and efficiencies.

  • Oversee inventory management, material ordering, and laboratory budget in collaboration with administrative leadership.

  • Lead the integration of digital dental technologies, including intraoral scanning, CAD/CAM design, 3D printing, and digital fabrication workflows.

  • Develop and maintain quality assurance and infection control protocols to ensure compliance with University and OSHA standards.

  • Collaborate with faculty and program directors to align laboratory services with predoctoral and postdoctoral educational needs.

  • Provide mentorship and hands-on guidance to students, residents, and faculty in both traditional and digital laboratory techniques.

  • Support and participate in research and innovation initiatives related to dental materials, manufacturing, and digital technology.

  • Supporting school lab services inside and outside the school with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Represent the School in professional and academic communities, including continuing education, conferences, and industry collaborations.

  • Contribute to the strategic development of the school’s new internal laboratory and assist in future programmatic growth.

  • Maintaining equipment and organizing service calls for all labs.

  • Organize and provide CE (hands-on) for all faculty, students, residents, lab technicians, and outside professionals.

Essential Functions

The Denal Laboratory Manager will oversee a team of laboratory staff, manage day-to-day production and quality control, and help design and implement innovative workflows that integrate traditional and digital techniques. This position also plays a key role in the development of the school’s new Digital Dental Technology Program and supports faculty, residents, and students through collaboration, technical training, and mentorship.
