Position Summary:
The Economics Department in the Villanova School of Business (VSB) at Villanova University is seeking applications for a non-tenure position beginning Fall 2026. The primary responsibilities of this position are teaching and service.

VSB employs a holistic, portfolio-based approach to faculty hiring in support of its mission of delivering high-quality research, teaching, and service. This position is designed for faculty who are strongly committed to Villanova’s mission of teaching excellence and meaningful engagement with students. It is not intended as a pathway to a research-focused, tenure-track appointment.

Faculty members in the Economics Department in VSB also advise undergraduate Economics majors under the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS). The Department seeks applicants who are also willing to serve as as an Economics major advisor.

This person will report to the Chair of the Department of Economics.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties include teaching introductory courses, with opportunities to teach upper division coursework (including in the Professional MBA program) depending on the individual’s area of specialization. This individual is also expected to provide service activities to the department, college, and/or university, as well as demonstrate continued engagement with the academic and practitioner community in their field.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated teaching excellence.
  • ABD in Economics.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • PhD in economics.
  • Willingness to serve as economics major advisor.
